Our vineyard operation is based in the Cevennes in the south of France . We have 145 acres of grapes & we produce about 300,000 bottles of various wines each year . The grapes are organically grown using a liquid seaweed as a fertiliser which also protects the vines during the hot Summer months. The wine is produced using no additives. Yes! - these are possibly the only 100% additive free wines in Ireland ! ( & probably a lot of other European countries also )

Who are we ? - you may ask . There are almost 300 of us, nearly all Irish . Some own only a single row of vines, producing up to 270 bottles of wine each year, which most take home here to Ireland & drink. If you are not Irish though there's no need to feel left out . We have a number of different nationalities among our row owners .

The Galway Bay was our first offering to the home market . The location of our wine cave is on a little hill called "Colline d'Espere meaning "Hill of Hope" . This is our main label . We have 11 different grape varietals & we blend our wine to suit the market .

Being additive free creates a constant struggle . Working with nature is a bitch ( excuse the French !) but when it comes right it's great , Yes the hot dry Summers - be it global warming or whatever - are great for us. We are saved from the constant attack of mildew & odium on the vines which are fertilised & protected by the seaweed from the Atlantic shores . With our  insulated wine cave & a group of enthusiastic young local wine makers to assist us we are producing wines of high quality & superb purity .  The difference we are told by our customers is that drinking our 14.5% wines gets one drunk if that's their desire but because of the omission of the chemicals normally found in commercial wines it doesn't leave them with a hangover the next day !

Thanks to the Australians & Chileans flooding the market with "good old engineered wines" ( most of which are actually bottled in the UK & Germany ) the price of vines in the Mediterranean region are at an all time low . Despite the recessionary climate we now find ourselves in this is actually a great time to invest in vines especially if you are a wine drinker . Your own wine will cost you less than half of what you would pay for a bottle of ‘plonk’ in a supermarket !
Our unique vine ownership scheme allows wine lovers & investors to become involved in the wine business at whatever level they wish . Until now owning a row or two of vines would have been just wishful thinking . Now however that's all changed . Les Vignerons Irlandais in association with LNV (Le Noble Vine) can make anyone's dream of owning their own vines & drinking their own wine a reality .

We organise everything . We tend the vines . We pick the grapes . We make the wine . We bottle it & we ship it ( direct to your door if required ) . If you wish you can even design & print your own label & we can deliver the bottles to you unlabelled so that you can use your own .

Each investor when they join our scheme can choose the row of vines they wish to purchase. You will get a certificate of ownership which lists your name & the number of the row that you own as well as a map of the commune & a copy of a plan identifying the location of each row of vines . The title deeds for the individual rows are held in trust by a limited company ( registered in Ireland ) in which you are allocated shares equivalent to your investment.

As an owner / investor you will receive regular newsletters to keep you up to date with all the activities at the vineyard . The newsletter will also cover various other wine related items as well as keeping row owners informed about trips to the vineyard , gourmet weekends & wine tasting & appreciation courses run at our vineyard & at our new holiday apartments in the nearby village of Canaules where vine owners are entitled to generous discounts on accommodation costs.

Also each year in October when all the hard work in the vineyard is completed we hold our big Harvest Festival . There is an open invitation for all our row owners & friends to attend & you will all be well informed in plenty of time through the newsletter about when this enjoyable event will be held each year . If you would like to get a little taste of what's involved & how enjoyable the weekend usually is then please take a look at the RTE TV programme "Ear to the Ground" which was broadcast in 2008 . The shows producers sent a camera crew to Languedoc to see just what we get up to during our harvest festival weekend & also to take a look at the vineyard & check out what is involved in our vine ownership scheme .
